Crist endorses McCain

Mike Huckabee was the only major candidate to not seek a Crist endorsement.Crist's endorsement comes a day after the high-profile decision by Florida Sen. Mel Martinez to back McCain. In a competitive race that has quartered the political establishment in Florida, the back-to-back nods by the two highest-ranking Republicans in the state gives McCain the aura of a frontrunner, though Romney is outspending him on television.''There are a lot of great people running for the Republican nomination, for president,'' Crist said, standing next to McCain. ``After thinking about it as much as I have I don't think anybody would do a better than the man who stands next to me. That's an endorsement.''Sources close to Crist and McCain say the governor endorsed McCain because the Arizona senator is doing well at the polls, has been a long-time help, mirrors Crist's moderate politics on issues like global warming, and shares top allies in Florida. Also, McCain backed Crist in 2006 over GOP governor candidate Tom Gallagher.

Apple Shares Nosedive on Limp Outlook

Apple's position at the higher end of the consumer market could expose it to a slowdown if a recession forces consumers to retrench, said Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster. iPod sales growth has been declining for some time, he noted, possibly suggesting market saturation will be reached.

Electronic ambassadors

A new generation of daring electronic artists may seem like unlikely bedfellows with the current German European Union presidency and the Goethe Institute. But, this spring, these institutions, via an international festival known as Unsound, will connect an international array of creative minds to further bridge the former East/West European cultural divide. Starting in Prague, this small tribe of trailblazing electronic artists will make its way through Kraków and Toruń, Poland; Bratislava; Kyiv and Minsk. .

Clinton wins Florida primary but no delegates at stake

Still, Clinton winked at that pledge, holding two closed fundraisers in recent days and scheduling a rally with supporters after the polls closed in Florida.

It is expected that the eventual nominee will try to seat delegates from Florida and Michigan, reversing the Democratic National Committee's punishment.

"I could not come here in person to ask you for your votes, but I am here to thank you for your votes today," she said. "This has been a record turnout because Floridians wanted their voices to be heard. I promise you I will do everything I can to make sure not only are Florida's Democratic delegates seated but Florida is in the winning column for the Democrats in 2008."

Clinton's chief strategist, Mark Penn, citing the turnout of 1.5 million Democrats, called the results "significant" and "far more than symbolic."

But the Obama camp said that without delegates, the outcome yielded nothing.
